How long have you been stamping?
I’ve been stamping now for about 4 1/2 years. I’ve always loved stamping, but had another hobby that takes so much time: I’ve been a parchment/Pergamano teacher.

What is your favorite technique?
I really love to make backgrounds of my own, and making cards with that. (Backgrounds with a page protector, ink and water (you can see it in my project), and working with embossing powder.

Favorite stamp company?
Wow, there are so many companies, of course the vendors, but also Beeswax is one of my favorite and of course OnyxXpressions with the fine designs. And let me don’t forget StampFrancisco, StampCamp and Inkadinkadoo.

Favorite Asian stamp?
There are so many stamps, but the fine flowers, butterflies and all the sort of geishas (windy-swap).

Favorite stamping accessory?
It depends what you are making, but embossing powder and twinkling H20s. (I’ve the complete collection)
.

Favorite colors?
I like most colors, except green, but the colors have to match: red-yellow-gold, blue-purple-black, black-white-silver.

Your favorite embellishment to finish a card?
I don’t really have them, but a coin or little charm is always a welcome item.

What is the one tool you couldn't live without?
My heat gun. I use that so many times to dry the background, to dry the glue, the embossing powder.

Any helpful tips for the group?
Don’t be shy. Don’t think I can’t do this or that. Remember, we have all started once. But, at the other side; don’t be too proud to ask if there is something you don’t know. You can’t always know everything. This is such a wonderful and helpful group. There is always someone who gives an answer.

As a member of OSA, why do you like stamping in the Oriental theme?
There are so many items in this theme, but to stamp with this theme, it gives
serenity when you are working with it, but also when you receive a card/item. There are no weird cards or anything that you have to ask: what does this mean? I’ve always, from when I was a little girl, loved Asian art. I don’t know why. Nobody in the family likes it.

Is there any one place or city you'd like to visit to find rubber stamps, supplies, or Asian art elements?
I really don’t know. The only thing I can think about that is to see who things are made, like paper and Asian fabric.

What other stamping lists or local clubs do you belong to?
I belong to some Dutch stamping lists. Some lists we make and send cards, come together sometimes, but there is one list where we only make ATC’s and scenes.

What favorite stamping magazines would you recommend?
If you don’t have much time for making cards you can look in the Take Ten. If you have more time there is the VampStampNews; beautiful projects

Published in any magazines? If yes, please list.
I’ve been published in VSN (magazine and in the gallery) and S.S. Reflections.

Any other hobbies, talents or craft interests?
Before I went to stamping I’ve made Parchment cards and follow the lessons to become a Pergamano teacher. I like to make embroidery (to hang on the wall), and Hardanger table covers. But after stamping, my biggest hobby is my house in Sweden.

What inspires you to be creative?
It’s my pleasure to make something for another. I really like to give self-made presents. And belonging to some groups gives you so many ideas that you can try and also many things on which you are never thinking of.

Any art background ?
Nothing. I couldn’t even sign a line without a ruler so to speak.

Have you used any unusual item in your stamping that wasn't necessarily meant for stamping?
Oh yes. So many. What do you think about a toothbrush to clean the stamps, and a handle with hooktape to take large stamps from the paper.

Any favorite websites you would recommend for inspiration?
That is of course the OSA website and the galleries. There are so many cards in different ways. There is always something you like and the art is so beautiful, not only cards, but so many different items.

Do you have a day job when you're not stamping?
Yes, I’ve a job. I’m working in a typewriting factory. We are teaching children typewriting. Sometimes I’m a teacher, but other times I give information about these lessons to the parents as a representative.

After the examinations I look after the typewriting machines, to clean them and making them ready for the next course. This factory gives only lessons to children in the age from 10 to 12. I really enjoy my job. I’ve to ride so many km. for doing this job, but that’s one of my favorite things.

Tell us about your family and where you live.
That can be short, but …………………
My husband and I live in a very small town, about 1.700 people. Yes, that’s small. We are married for 32 years. We don’t have children, so I can’t tell you stories about children, grandchildren etc. BUT, as you have read above; we have a house in Sweden, and yes, that’s so beautiful. We bought it 3 years ago, and it is very old. It was in good condition, but it has been a long time ago there was worked in. It was clean but old. In the living room there was wallpaper from 1975. Can you image; what a coincidence; it was exactly the same wallpaper we have had in our first house after we married. It’s a big house with also a big shed, which has 4 compartments. Each of that was filled with all and everything from who has lived there. We have found maps with information from 75 years ago. Every vacation we are working in that house and it becomes a beautiful house. We’ve also made a craft room in that house, so when we’re finished with painting the house and shed, I can paint cards.
I know, you’re asking: why Sweden. We have traveled to Sweden every year beginning in 1981. We have cycled in a large part of Sweden, but after I became FM it’s no longer possible to have a cycling vacation. After thinking, and thinking we have decided to by a house in that country.
