How long have you been stamping?
I started stamping about 12 years ago. I had a friend who had a candy store. She also had a small section dedicated to stamping. I used to make chocolates for her store and then she decided to rent the upstairs portion of the building and open a stamping store. Every time I would deliver chocolates I would be lured upstairs to see what she was doing. I would land up spending several hours with her making samples for the store. I started out making some gift tags to go with the baskets that I made during the holiday season and did dry embossing. I swore I would not get "hooked". Well, next I did some Pergamano and well the rest is history. She eventually sold the candy store and opened a stamping store, and I eventually started teaching classes there.

What is your favorite technique?
I don't know if I have a favorite. I do love to use Alcohol Inks and adore H20's.

Favorite stamp company?
Well, that's really hard. I have many PSX, Outlines, Limited Edition. UM's, About Art Accents and Art Neko Stamps. It's unfair as I have many stamps and love lots of companies.

Favorite stamping accessory?
My Genesis papercutter, my Xyron and my Zutter cutter.

Favorite colors?
Shades of blues and purples, but love the richness of reds and golds.

Your favorite embellishment to finish a card?
I don't know if I have a favorite.

What is the one tool you couldn't live without?
There are two, my Genesis paper cutter and my Ott-lite.

Any helpful tips for the group?
Don't be afraid to experiment.....it's only paper and sometimes my best work has come out of what I thought was a mistake. Also, mistakes can be used for punches. For example if you make a background and don't like it, punch out a dragonfly or a butterfly and use it on a card.

As a member of OSA, why do you like stamping in the Oriental theme?
There is something I find very peaceful about Oriental Art.

Is there any one place or city you'd like to visit to find rubber stamps, supplies, or Asian art elements?
My husband and I travel a lot and I will always look for art elements everywhere, i.e. Chinatown in San Francisco, New York and Boston. These areas have provided me with lots of materials that I can use. I would love some day to travel to China.

What other stamping lists or local clubs do you belong to?
I am on approximately 38 other groups including OSA.

What favorite Stamping magazines would you recommend?
Take 10 and VSN.

Published in any magazines? If yes, please list.
Only in VSN so far.

Any other hobbies, talents or craft interests?
Too many really for one person; gardening, knitting re-finishing furniture, looking for antiques, cooking, papercutting, and lots of others.

What inspires you to be creative?
Sometimes it's music, sometimes it's a deadline and sometimes it's a new technique.

Any art background ?
Yes, I have had 9 years of art lessons mainly in oils.

Have you used any unusual item in your stamping that wasn't necessarily meant for stamping?
Plumber's tape, wall spackle for embossing, window screening
.

Any favorite websites you would recommend for inspiration?
This is a hard question, because I don't think I have one. I surf the net sometimes, but prefer art books and reference books for ideas.

Do you have a day job when you're not stamping?
Well, I am a "Domestic Engineer" and I'd definitely say thats a job!!

Tell us about your family and where you live.
I have been married to my dear husband for 40 years come next June. We met when we first started college and the rest is history. We have moved 16 times over the years in order to help my dh move up the "corporate ladder." We have two fabulous daughters, the eldest is a mom to my terrific granddaughters and wife to the best SIL anyone could every have. Our youngest is working as a Counselor for the Juvenile Justice Department in the state of Kentucky. She works with kids who abuse drugs and alcohol. She loves her work and is great at it.

We moved here to North Carolina about 2 years ago to be closer to our grandkids and to be a viable part of their lives. We left the cold snowy weather of the western portion of Pennsylvania and I don't miss it. We have decided this is the last move but I have learned in the past never to say never again.

Although the past two years have been hard on me due to eye problems, this was and is the best move we have made.
