Batik Kimono
by Catrina Kohl 1. Stamp image on glossy cardstock using versamark. Emboss with clear ep. 2. Using a cosmetic sponge and 3 dye ink colors (I used 3 from the Kalidecolor Carribean sea), color the cardstock with the kimono image. You can either leave alone at this point, or turn iron on to meduim setting, place kimono on protective paper, place a piece of unprinted newsprint or plain copy paper on top of kimono and iron to remove the embossed areas on kimono) 3. I cut the kimono out and then made 2 small slices up in the collar area. 4. Weave a skewer (I sliced one in half so that it would lay flat, be very careful doing this) through the 2 slices. Trim end of skewer to about 3/4" of an inch from either side of the sleeves. 5. So the skewer didn't move around, I placed 2 small pieces of double sided tape on the backside of the sleeves for the skewer to stick to. 6. Layer onto lightly patterened paper, this one happens to be some under the sea scrapbook paper that I found in my scrap bin. Layer onto another piece of paper (blue cardstock in example). 7. Place photo corners on all 4 corners, then affix to white cardstock. This example is on an A4 size. Return to Projects Menu
